Last year we hosted a tremendous "back to school festival" that connected churches and community partners to care for students in our local schools. Due to Covid-19, we did not have the opportunity to have an in-person festival with students and community partners. Instead, we collaborated with a number of partners to make sure every student had the supplies they needed for distance-learning. We called it the Annapolis Backpack Collaborative, and friends, it was a raging success.
While the county provided school supplies for elementary school students, older students were left hanging. Our church and a number of non-profit organizations sponsored enough backpacks filled with supplies to take care of each student in the Annapolis cluster of schools.
