Weekly note from Pastor Chris

Beloved of Eastport United Methodist,

I miss you.

This is indeed a strange season. Maybe you're still busy at work (and I pray so fervently that you are safe), maybe you are at home (and I pray you find rest), maybe you're at home with the kid(s) (and I pray that time is meaningful. Yesterday JoAnn, Bill, and I recorded the service and while we had fun doing it, it was just so hard to imagine each of you on the other side of the internet.

I sincerely miss each of you and I long for the day when we can gather together in-person.

So, I hope you will join in worship from your home tomorrow at our usual time (10 am) by tuning into eastportumc.org/worship-online

We'll take a deep breath together as usual, sing along with familiar hymns, and hear a reflection on Nicodemus' conversation with Jesus. (There is an issue with the sound about 32 minutes in, the Digital Communications Team worked for hours and found no resolution, so bear with it for a few moments).

A few of you generous souls have asked about ways you can support the church while we are "shut down" but still working hard to do ministry in new, creative, and digital ways. We now have an easy online way to support the ministry of Eastport United Methodist Church.

Go to eastportumc.org/give to give directly. Your gift ensures that we remain a haven of love and belonging in our community.

The staff, leadership team, and I so appreciate your support.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Chris
